UNDOCUMENTED REFUGEES OCCUPYING IN FRONT OF TER APEL ASYLUM SEEKERS CENTRE TO FIGHT FOR THEIR BASIC HUMAN RIGHTS

We, a group of 15 rejected asylum seekers, have been camping now for a week in front of the Ter apel AZC. We decided to remain in front of the Ter apel because our basic human rights and humanitarian needs are not met. Many of us have been living in the Netherlands for several years lacking basic human rights, such as shelter and food. We have nowhere to go and we will not give up. We will stay here until a decision is made to grant us our basic human rights. We want to reach our dream to have our basic humanitarian needs met and get a chance to build our lives.
We have come to the Netherlands from Somalia. We have fled to save our lives. We have been rejected asylum in this country. We are not sent back because the government of the Netherlands also knows that it is not safe in our country. We cannot go back. Still they throw us out in the streets without any possibilities to survive. We came here for sound reasons and we demand that our human rights be respected.
